“A number of years ago, an accident blew out three cervical discs in my spine. I was taken to see several physicians, all of whom told me I would never walk again. I was bed-ridden for two years and crawled to the bathroom daily. I saw physicians every other week and they saw progress but insisted I would never walk. I am very fortunate to have had a world-class heart surgeon father who created specialized exercises to do daily.
In time, I could not only walk, but I could go up and downstairs. I decided to return to yoga. I commenced class with Julia Lorimer, a very experienced yoga therapy instructor. I began to feel much less nagging nerve pain and back pain.
I returned to my doctors and shocked them all. They asked what factor I think made the difference and I told them that my yoga instructor, Julia, had enabled me to live a normal life again for the first time in almost a decade.
