The gas in our tank usually seems finite. We fill it up and when our energy slackens, we go to replenish with more fuel, such as food, deep breathing and sleep. The most effective and immediate way to increase energy and to provide higher octane for the body and mind to function involves deep breathing which engages the diaphragm muscle. The diaghragm is part of the core muscle structure in the torso. It is designed like a house with the diaphragm the roof, and the pelvic floor muscles as the basement. Deep breathing techniques affect both the body and mind. It strengthens the diaphragm and the pelvic floor and serves as an important function of stabilizing the truck and pelvis as well as calms the mind in a moment of stress.
